Choosing the Right Friends

"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God,

who gives generously to all without finding fault,

and it will be given to him."

James 1:5

Father, help me to develop godly relationships in my life.  Give me discernment concerning the friendships I make.

Lord, I realize the wrong friendships can be a destructive force in my life.  Help me to let go of any relationship that pulls me away from You and Your Word.  Help me to recognize any relationship in my life that is codependent, and give me insight to correct or end that relationship.

Let me to friends who love You and have a close relationship with You.  Help me to be sensitive to the needs of my friends and to encourage them in their spiritual walk.  May You, Lord, be at the center of all my friendships.

Lord, help me to develop honest, trustworthy, and loyal friendships.  Help us to speak the truth about areas in each other's life that need improvement.  Help us to not be offended but thankful that we love each other enough to speak the truth.

Give me Your wisdom, Lord, to built relationships that will last a lifetime.  In Jesus' name I pray.
