Prayers . . . on longing for peace

CRY FROM A GRIEVING HEART

My God, I call out to you as a child lost and separated from its parent.  I know your hand is reaching out to me, yet I feel too grieved to grasp it.  My heart fells like an ice pack with my chest.  At the same time, my spirit weeps, yes, longs for communion with you, Father God!

Hear me, O God, a I ask you to re-warm my frigid heart.  I long to care again.  I long to love again.  I long to commingle my ears with one who is hurting.  Lord, without your help, it would be so easy for me to retreat into myself and care only for providing for my own needs and comforts.  Deliver me, O God, from being inconsiderate an indifferent.

I know you have heard my cry, Father, and I thank you now for a heart-wash.  I open myself to your love, and I fully expect it to flood me and fill me.  Make me long once again to be used in your service.  Because of Christ I can pray.

Amen

but rejoicing comes in the morning."
