Prayers . . . on marriage and divorce

A Cry from an Abandoned Wife

O God, Father of the fatherless, I call out to you for my abandoned children.  I cry from my own loneliness.  We know my husband's whereabouts, but we never see him.  He took a job far away from us and rarely comes to visit.

It's very confusing for me, Lord.  He claims he remains faithful to me and doesn't want a divorce, but thoughts that he may be involved with another woman torture me.  Reveal the truth to me, Lord.  Show me what to do.  give me a constant sense of your presence so I won't feel so alone.

He says he loves the children, but that's not how he acts.  He doesn't even send enough support money.  My salary barely feeds us; there's little money for extras.  I come home from work and have to care for the kids alone. I'm exhausted.

My husband and I are supposed to be a team, God.  I need help raising the children.  Convict him.  Call him to repentance.  Refresh his love for us.  Bring him home.  But if he refuses to come, I know you have promised to be my husband and defender.  I am confident you will help us.  Thank you, Lord.

Amen
