Prayers . . . for loved ones, friends, and strangers

A HEALING PRAYER FOR PTSD SUFFERERS

Sovereign Lord, you have all power to see into our hearts, minds, and bodies.  You know precisely where disease gnaws away at our bones; you see the mental illness and terror that curl around the crevices of our minds, and you have the power to heal.

So I ask for healing for someone with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  God, help him to cry out to you from his place of desperation; then you will help.  Make him willing to cooperate with you and concerned counselors so you can remove the memories that cause him to relive events best forgotten.  Help him when flashbacks confuse him, mixing up his pas and present.  Rock him in your comforting arms when he feels vulnerable and violated.

Teach him to develop a friendship with you that will enable him to  handle relationships with other people.  Bring him back to a normal, fulfilling life, Lord.  Teach him to laugh again.  Restore him.  Bless him.  Thank you, Lord.

Amen

"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness."
