Prayers . . . for children

ASKING FOR HELP WITH SCHOOLWORK STRUGGLES

Lord, you created this child just as he is, including his brain and his unique way of looking at the world.  he tries so hard and it's discouraging for him when he doesn't understand his schoolwork.

Develop in him a positive attitude -- tenaciousness and patience -- that will help him persevere in his struggles with his assignments.  Open up other areas in life where he can experience success.

Help his parents and teachers discover the source of the problem and develop creative solution.  Direct them to resources and people who can help.  Give them the wisdom to know when to encourage, when to back off, and when to be firm.

Most of all, help them to love him unconditionally, remembering he is already precious in your sight and his value does not depend on success at school.

In the name of Jesus, who loves all his children, I pray.

Amen

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials

of many kinds, because you know that the testing

of your faith develops perseverance.

Perseverance must finish its work so that

you may be mature and complete,

not lacking anything."

James 1:2-4
