PRAYER FOR AN UNSAVED FRIEND

Dear God, I feel so grieved and burdened for my unsaved friend.  He can't recognize Truth because Satan has obscured his mind with a veil of lies.  My friend doesn't know you and as far as he is concerned, he doesn't need to know you.  He scoffs at the idea that he could be headed for hell and gets angry if I even mention your name.

Snatch away the veil, Lord.  Soften his heart.  Help him recognize your Truth.  Send your convicting Holy Spirit to hover over him.  Convict him as he goes about his daily activities, convict him as he sleeps at night, and convict him every time he indulges in sin.  Show him that sin is simply a cheap imitation of all the good things you have for him.  Bring events into his life which require more than his own strength and understanding. Remove all complacency.  Force him to recognize his weakness and his desperate need for you.  Banish his rebellious spirit.  Make him long for you.

Send people who love you wholeheartedly into his life.  Then prepare me, along with those other believers, to reflect your love, power and grace to him.  My desire for my friend is to share in your eternal inheritance.  Please save him.  In Jesus' name.

Amen

"This is good, and pleases God our Savior,

who wants all men to be saved

and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
