Bring Back the Runaway Child
Living God, who knows the heart and mind and will of every person, help me. You see
them, Lord, agonized, weeping day and night, and unable to find
their runaway child. You know where that child is right now. Your eye is upon
them. Lord, you alone can help. You alone can thoroughly search the streets and alleyways, speak
their name, and call them home. Father, restore this child to
the family. Bring this wayward one back into their arms.
Keep the child safe on the streets. Let no evil overtake
them, Lord. You know they don't make wise decisions. Walk with
them as they wander in the night. Lead them to a place of safety. Surround this rebellious child with people who will reach out and help. Give
the child a safe place to sleep. Provide food, but make them miserable enough that
they yearn for the safety and love of home again. Cause the
child's thoughts to be drawn to
those who love them. Convince them of their love, Lord.
Father, right this moment, speak to
this child. Fill them with a desire to phone home, or cause
them to share their heart with someone who will contact their family. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me when I cry out to you. i know you will answer, for you are a loving heavenly Father. In Christ's name.
