"Deciding to
Follow"
Dear Heavenly Father,
I n the days leading
up to the celebration of your birth it is so easy to get caught up
in the worldly views, thoughts and events. these holidays can be so
joyous to some and such a "hell" to so many others. Father I know
that one of the ways You have provided for us to avoid the pressures
and depression is to simply "follow You". I can't allow myself to
get sidetracked and change my way of thinking or doing just because
I will be around some people who do not know or live for You. God,
help me to not lose my direction and begin to hate the sinner and
not the sin. Help me to remember that I must not pick back up what I
had previously lay aside, those pleasures and things that the
"world" considers OK. Nothing that is "temporary" is worth what You
have waiting for me.
In Jesus name I pray,

must put aside your own pleasures and shoulder your cross and follow me closely"
