"He Gave His
Life"
Dear God,
We have heard the words many times. They have been preached to us as we
attended church. But hearing and really grasping the meaning of what we
hear is totally different. Jesus told His disciples over and over that
"He was leaving", that "He was going away", that "He must go". Jesus
never once stated that He was being taken away. In fact as they came to
take Him in the garden Peter pulled out his sword to defend Him and
Jesus instructed him to put it away. Jesus went to the cross He wasn't
taken there, He gave up His life it wasn't taken from Him. Help us
today to grasp the knowledge Jesus gave to us as to why He gave His
life up. The devil himself has no power over us as long as we are in
Christ. He paid the price so that we too could give our lives each and
every day to glorify Him and remind Satan that he lost, it's over and
we win! Thank You Father for Your great love for each of us, that You
would give Your Son, that He would give His life, to set us free from
sin, and fill us with peace, and give us everlasting life.
