Father God,

As I read the news this morning I noticed a story about a woman in Alaska who while hiking had slipped on a steep ledge. She had managed to grab hold of some roots and hung on all night, 17 hours in all, until rescued. She said she kept telling herself that she could not go to sleep.

Lord thank You for being there with that woman. Thank You helping her hold on until help came. God help us as Your children to hold on, and realize that we will be rescued, we will be saved, You are on your way to take us to safety. Thank You for that promise and the faith to hold on.
