"Do as I do"
Dear Lord,
In the news today they were telling how a
gun safety instructor in Illinois while teaching a lesson ended up
shooting himself in the leg. He was instructing that you always need to
check and see if a firearm is loaded first, when the gun went off and
shot him in the leg.
It was one case where "do as I do, not as
I say" did not seem to fill the bill!
God it is so great to know that you have
made it so simple for us to do the right thing. You have set an example
through Your Son Jesus Christ, for us to follow. We don't need to worry
about "doing as You said" all we need is to "do as You do" and all that
is written down in the book we call the Bible. You spelled it out loud
and clear with Jesus when He told the disciples, "I do the things I see
my Father do", now all have to do is "do as You do". Help us Lord, and
give us strength to do the right things, to not compromise, to live up
to what You have given us to follow,
