Harmony with Others
"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not;
charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
doth not behave itself unseemly,
seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked,
thinketh no evil."
1 Corinthians 13:4,5
Lord, I know it is Your desire that we live a joyous and peaceful life. I pray that You would help
us to live in harmony with others. Help us to not be selfish or self-centered in
our relationships. Help us to be more conscious of what we do for others than of what they can do for
us. Help us to be the peacemakers. Lord, give us patience and understanding in dealing with others.
Help us to not easily be offended when someone says or does something that has the potential to hurt
our feelings. Help us to realize and and recognize that often people who are hurting speak out of fear or frustration and not out of their hearts. Help
us to not be quick to judge or criticize others but rather to be merciful, kind, and compassionate toward them. Help
us to not react in anger or frustration to their words
but rather to respond with love and a caring heart.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen
"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you,
live peaceably with all men."
Romans 12:18
